1. Editor de HTML
La principal herramienta va a ser el programa con el que vas crear el código HTML. Si tienes una sólida base de conocimientos del lenguaje HTML bastará con un simple editor de texto como puede ser el bloc de notas de windows o el editor Emacs en el caso de Linux. 2. Edición de imágenes (logotipos, banners, gifs animados…)
Si vas a utilizar elementos gráficos en tu página web, deberás tener algún software que te permita crear y/o retocar imágenes, así como de crear animaciones (gifs animados).
Existen una gran cantidad de productos software para este tipo de tareas. Además, muchos de ellos los podrás encontrar completamente gratis (freeware) o de uso temporalmente limitado (shareware).
La marca Ulead ofrece un gran abanico de software orientado al diseño web. Permite descargarse de su sitio web versiones de prueba de la mayoría de sus productos: Ulead Photo Impact, Ulead gif animator, Ulead Cool 3d.
Adobe Phtoshop: Sin lugar a dudas, el mejor programa de edición, y retoque de imágenes en mapa de bits.
Flash: De Macromedia. Para crear animaciones con tecnología flash.
Freehand: De Macromedia. Herramienta para crear imágenes vectoriales.

3. Clientes de FTP
Para poder publicar una página web, deberás disponer de un programa que se conecte mediante FTP al servidor. Existen muchos programas, de los cuales gran parte d ellos los puedes encontrar en la red de forma freeware o shareware.
Algunos conocidos son: Cute FTP, WS_FTP.
Otro es NICO_FTP que es freeware y te lo puedes descargar desde la sección software de esta misma página web.
